OUR STORY

This nonprofit was created with one goal in mind: to make parks more inclusive for all children, but for me, this mission is deeply personal.

My younger brother has autism, and growing up, I saw firsthand how challenging communication and social interaction could be for him. He experienced delayed speech and struggled to express his thoughts clearly, which often made simple conversations difficult. Because of these challenges, he repeated kindergarten, needing extra time and support to build foundational skills.

Over the years, he has made incredible progress. Today, he can speak and communicate, but it’s not always easy. Sometimes his words get lost in translation, and others don’t always understand him. Because of this, he can feel isolated from his peers, especially in social settings like playgrounds where communication and quick interaction are so important.

He also experiences intense meltdowns, which we continue to work through as a family. These moments can be overwhelming, not just for him but for everyone around him, and they often stem from frustration when he isn’t understood or can’t fully express what he needs.

Watching him grow has shown me both the challenges and the possibilities. With the right tools, patience, and support, he has found ways to communicate and connect, and that has made all the difference.

That’s why this organization focuses on bringing communication boards, adaptive swings, and other inclusive playground features into community parks. These aren’t just additions, they are lifelines. They give children like my brother a way to express themselves, join in play, and feel included rather than left out.

To me, inclusion means more than access: it means belonging. It means creating spaces where children of all abilities are not just present, but truly seen, heard, and valued.

This work is for my brother, and for every child who deserves the chance to connect, play, and be understood.
